Now that we’re half way into 2021 we want to share with you the new and upcoming trends in the bathroom. We’ve gathered some of the top trending bathroom designs that may be useful to you in your next project. Bathroom trends of 2021 are all about new textures, patterns, prints, finishes, and styles.

Floating Vanities 

In 2021 we’ve noticed homeowners switching their typical heavy box cabinetry to space saving floating vanities. The great thing about wall-mount bathroom vanities is that it comes in an array of options without limiting it to the space available around the plumbing. Floating vanities can also give your bathroom a clean and airy feel, its also a great option for smaller bathrooms to give it a more open look.

Inset Storage 

We get that organizing a bathroom can be difficult, especially when theres so many things to store in such a small space. This year we noticed homeowners are now adding cubby holes or nooks into their cabinetry to add more space for storage. Not only do these built-in niche allow for more storage room but you can use it to display creams, jewelry, vases, towels, and candles to make your bathroom more aesthetically pleasing.

Large Wall Tiles & Stones

Homeowners having been switching from small mosaic tiles to large wall tiles and stones in their bathrooms. This is a trend that will be here to stay because it can make an impact in the bathroom while displaying fewer grout lines. Large format tiles usually give bathrooms a more luxurious look, particularly when paired with natural stone and stone like materials, making slabs for shower surrounds a big trend in 2021. In addition to the larger tiles, homeowners are pairing them with subway tiles that are offered in various sizes, colors, textures, and finishes.

Tile Pattern & Shapes

We went over how large wall tiles are becoming a major trend in the bathroom but another trend we are seeing a resurgence of are different tile pattern and designs in the bathroom. With the combination of larger wall tiles homeowners are incorporating tile patterns of different shapes, colors, designs, and texture. These unique shapes and design can be quite the eye catcher in the bathroom and a trend that is here to stay.

Soaking Tubs

After the pandemic many homeowners incorporated showers tubs into their bathrooms for rest and relaxation, making soaking tubs a hot trend in 2021. According to a Houzz bathroom trends study, freestanding tubs will be more popular than clawfoot models. We noticed the most popular bathroom layout is the separate tub and shower, homeowners are building bigger showers but still incorporating a small tub.

Brass & Gold Accents 

Shades of brass and gold have been dominating the home especially in the bathroom in 2021. Brass and gold shades add just the right amount of depth and luxury felt any space. Homeowners are loving the change to warmer accents and brass accents blend nicely with any kind of bathroom design. Brass and gold tones are now offered in new finishes like satin, matte, and spun gold; this subtle change can bring a classy yet traditional element to your bathroom.
